I have a 99' Oldsmobile Intrigue 3.5L Engine 130k mileage? Basically I burned all the oil and failed to add more or get an oil change Currently my car is operational but i know its going to lock, it turns on it can go, i hear a clicking/puttering noise from the engine whenever goin over 3k rpm, some mechanics said its damaged and needs to be swapped, i put a couple quartz of oil but I don't think its taking it. I am currently not driving it, I didn't drive it a lot since I started hearing the noise and figured out the issue. Anyway to fix this problem without swapping the engine? It still runs but probably not for long :(

The engine may not be locked up yet but that doesn't mean it isn't already ruined. When metal rubs together without any lubrication, it does permanent damage to the components that will never disappear, no matter how much "mechanic in a can" you add to it. You just can't "undo" what is already done. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
