Rig up a fuel pressure gauge so you can monitor it while driving as the problem occurs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

No, it doesn't appear so. Wasn't that only on the RWD 5.7? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Quite possibly.........Man you know my memory....That was so long ago. It really looked good on paper but you know what a mess that turned out to be, all the problems with the solenoids & wiring, it sure didn't last long....

4-6-8 (4100 or 4.1 V8) was NOT used in a 5.7(Chev block) TMK never put in a Cadillac anything and was dominant in the 4.1. GM dumped it - too many troubles, Tom

It was used in 1981 only in the Ht4100 and from 81 to 84 in the 6.0. Never in the 5.7.

This is not the 4-6-8. I will start with the fuel pressure. Will post results. Thank you for the comments.

Laugh - If I recall (wonder sometimes) Cadillac never used a Chev block but absolutely did use the real Olds 350 in many RWDs. About '77-79 GM RWDs, non Cadillacs were putting in anything in anything really ticking off folks who bought a Buick (seen this with own eyes) with a Pontiac engine! Class action suit followed. Once the 5 divisions of GM in order of lowest to highest was Chev, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick, Cadillac and there were real differences in grades of steel, fabrics and engines. CAFE standards stuck all car makers so GM stayed with just Chev, Pontiac blocks by model year 1980 I think was the marked year. They then said your engine is just a GM engine. Somewhere along the way the "BIG THREE" just plain bought foreign cars and put their name on it! Seems all got in bed with anyone and some still do Tom
