Chevy 1500 Express runs rough Sign In

I have a 1998 chevy 1500 express van with 5.7 L engine.
It was running fine until I decided to change spark plugs, wires, rotor, pcv valve, now it runs rough like a chugging sound it makes.
The old plugs were ac delco, advanced auto parts gave me bosch fine wire pregapped plugs told me they were OE.
Would anybody have the spark plug wiring diagram?
The distributor cap is numbered.
If anybody can help that would be appreciated.
Thanks

Take those plugs back out and throw them as far away as you can. Those people are idiots and liars.

Counter monkeys gave you junk plugs. Toss them and put delco back in. As you stand in front of the van looking at the engine, the cylinders to your left are even numbered and the ones to the right are odd numbered.

Next time you are ordering spark plugs make sure you specify OEM plugs.

Also to add to this. These plugs are made of glass. They will crack very easily and will not work once they are cracked so be very careful installing them. Us only a spark plug socket that has a rubber insert.

Re: Chevy 1500 Express runs rough Sign In

I looked at advanced auto parts screen when he looked spark plugs up,their system said they were OE.

They gave me bosch oe platinum 6703 fine wire.

I used socket with rubber insert when removing and installing.

When I was installing one of the new plugs it cracked but I got it out. So I was one short one on new plugs.

Could that one old plug ac delco that I am running it now with be causing it to run rough being it is not the same exact as new ones?

It didn't run rough before tuneup.

Also after replacing plugs, wire and rotor, check engine light came on.

So I disconnected battery for a few mins and reconnected and started and check engine light didn't come on.

If you're not going to listen, then don't ask questions here is the first place. Bosch plugs have never been and never will be OE for a GM car. They are the worst possible choice of plugs that could have been made. I don't care what his screen said, they created the screen themselves.

Re: Chevy 1500 Express runs rough Sign In

AC Delco is what this came with from the factory. With HT on the opinion of them too. Counter monkeys are not to be trusted, especially at Advance Auto Death. They want to sell more Bosch plugs so they put them on the screen as equal to OE. They aren't. Get 8 new Delco plugs and be careful when putting them in. If you don't have a wire crossed to the wrong plug, which is possible, you have now seen why we are telling you to toss those plugs. Also, instead of clearing out codes without getting the codes first, it would be a good idea to get the code read and post them here. They are a clue as to the issue and shouldn't be ignored.

Re: Chevy 1500 Express runs rough Sign In

You know it might be best if you take this one in & get it checked out......

You have a couple of techs giving you some good advise & don't seem to be taking it coupled by doing things that don't really make sense....Why you would erase a DTC without seeing what it is beyond me.....That was the easiest clue to which cylinder/cylinders are giving you trouble & you just wiped it out without even seen what it was...

To make things even worse, the cap design on this system is very poor. I've had bad caps right out of the box & not just Bosch.. AC is the only brand I use on these systems....

If you want to get this thing fixed....You need to listen to these guys and follow their advise because from what I'm seeing i really don't think you are going to pull this one off by yourself...
