Hey i have a 1994 Mazda MX-3 car was running fine then i changed it from an external coil disty to a regular disty. I put the regular one in and it was running fine.. then i was tapping up the wires and the enegine stalled.. Now im not getting spark to the disty, ive got 3 distys ive tried them all and no spark in this car. i put them in my other mx-3 and it fires right up with no problem. Ive unwrapped the wires right back to the oem harness covers almost by the fire wall. made sure there was no cuts or open wires, retapped them. tested the wires for continuity with the Negative tester on the battery. i got continuity on all the wires from the 6pin and the 3pin coming off the disty.. Now should i have continuity on all the wires? or does that mean its shorting out on ground some where? even the RED wire aka HOT wire is getting continuity.. any help would be great..oh it has the 2.5 V6 import KLZE. but diag are from the 1.8V6

Wow. Sounds like you got yourself a big fat mess. Twisting and taping wires together will cause nothing but problems. Using non-weather sealed crimps aren't a good choice either. The best choice is soldering the wiring together and then using heat shrink to protect the joints. I don't understand what you mean in your statement. MX-3 came with either a 1.6L or 1.8L. Is this an engine swap job? If it is, your on your own. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

no. no swap job. its a klze 2.5v6 JDM.. but the wiring is the same as the OEM 1.8v6 from the mx3. so no worries there.. when i follow a flowchart this is what it tells me to do. click on this link http://i1187.photobucket.com/...neyshot23/Start2.png follow the red lines.. but my next question is. if i test it and it works. where do i go from there?

Unplug the distributor 3 pin connector and 6 pin connector. On the three pin connector: With your meter check for battery voltage on the blue wire with the ignition on. Check for battery voltage on the white with red stripe wire with the ignition on. On the six pin connector: With your meter set on ohms check for continuity to the battery negative on the black with purple stripe wire and the black with light green stripe wire. I tested all that lastnight. im getting voltage and continuity. i have the oem mazda wiring diagram and its correct. but for someone it wont get spark. the car was running fine. then i was tapping some wires up ( while the car was on). when i tapped the wires that hook up to the disty down farth towards the fire wall. the car stalled and now wont start and no spark. so i took the oem cover off went almost to the firewall to make sure there was no pinched wires or shorts, i tested for continuity and its good. so i dont no if it could be a cam position sensor or what. just doesnt make any sence that it just up and happens out of no where.

You need an oscilloscope to test the two position sensors signals (SGT&SGC) from the distributor and the igniter control signal from the PCM to the igniter in the distributor. You'll have to check at the PCM connector for the position signals and at the distributor for the igniter control signal. Once you find out what is missing, you'll be able to narrow down your search. With a four channel scope you can view all three signals at the same time and compare them. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

You can check for the presence of those position sensor signals at the engine controller with a volt meter, but you really need to check the output signal with a scope. The signal is too fast for a meter. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
