I have a 1998 Buick Park Avenue that ran low on coolant. I drove another 2 miles and added coolant. Now it starts to turn over but will not start. Have I frozen it? Or worse...have I killed it?

When you crank the engine, if the engine rotates it is not frozen. My next question, does it sound like it cranks normally, or does it sound like it cranks over really slowly? Steve

As Steve said we need to know if the engine actually turns when you ask it to start. From there depending on how hard it overheated it could have burned out it's ability to make spark. If it does if fact turn you should be able to fix this up. You will also need to find why it overheated in the first place---- re-runs are for TV -- and I know you aren't smiling right now, T

Thank you so much for your reply. Unfortunately, upon having my car towed to my mechanic, he found the engine locked up. I need another one.

Thank you, Tom, for your empathy. While replacing an engine was not top on my list of fun things to do, I have found I can handle just about anything thrown my way.

Bummer!! Check out the salvage yards for a complete original engine. If you go that way you do need to trust the yard as to their skills at figuring out what is really a good engine. I have good luck with the ones around me and some will intall what they sell which can be the right move, Good luck, T
