Found this since my car came back from the garage??

I don't see that it's bent from falling out of exact spot during install but stuff can happen even with new parts,

This wasn't changed..it's original. Had zero problems with heat and coolant temp when the car went to the garage for timing belt water pump etc. First day I drove it home I knew something was not right...this is how I found it. Took alot of pressure to push it back down to the correct position..put a new one in anyhow. Kinda weird??!!

The spring end is a temp sensitive wax pellet and obviously was able to allow that push pin to retract too far and when heated wasn't contained by the bail that you see and when it expanded next round missed the spot. Stuff happens??
