Fluctuating Revs??? Sign In

Hi all

I have a 2005 Suzuki XL7 (Grand Vitara) 2.7. 5 Speed Manual. 63000Km.
Was driving home and went to go around a roundabout and then it started.
When idle the revs fluctuate from 1500 - 2500 rpm for some unknown reason to me and it just goes up and down between that.
When driving along going to change gears, it's still high (not to sure at what rpm) so gear changing is rough.
I haven't tried anything as I am trying to get an idea of what maybe the problem ie; how much it's going to cost me.
I drove it straight home and am waiting till the morning to have a look. This is the first time that it has ever happened.

Please if anyone can be of assistance I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

i'm having a similar problem with my car as well, you could try cleaning the manifold and throttle body, as well as replace the hoses

i did that for my saturn, and that worked

Thanks for the reply.

I cleaned the throttle sensor and the throttle body and it worked like magic. It's all up and running like brand new again.
