Ford Sable O2 sensor issue

I had a code checker hooked up to my car and it came back with a P0420 code that also read "catalyst system efficiency bellow threshold Bank 1" after researching this I found that this is usually caused by having a bad O2 sensor. I just wanted to make sure that this is most likely the issue. The code reader did not say anything about a bank 2 lean which I assume means that there is a leak in the lines and is drawing air from somewhere else. Could anyone please advise?

No, it's not caused by a bad 0/2 sensor. 99% of the time it is a used up Catalytic Converter. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

P0420 is a Bank 1 code anyway.
