Fuel line Sign In

I just installed a new fuel pump on my truck (its a 84 Ranger with a 1986-1993 mustang 5.0) when turning on the fuel pump the excess fuel doesn't come out of the return line but instead seems to be pushing back into the fuel pump. I am 99% sure I have the lines connected to the correct fuel input and return. I do not have the return line put into the fuel cell currently, could that be why fuel isn't being pulled through the return line?

Re: Fuel line Sign In

You're not making any sense. The fuel can't flow in opposite directions.

Have you tested the pressure at the port? Are you sure the pump is capable of high pressure?
I think that truck originally had a low pressure TBI system and the 5.0 requires high pressure.

These are the kind of issues you run into when you try to Frankenstein a vehicle.
