Hesitation/Surge on Acceleration Sign In

I have a 1999 Ford Windstar that recently has had the EGR (sp?) sensor & valve replaced which removed the check engine light but the symptoms...hesitation/surge on acceleration...have continued. It seems to be more prevalent when the weather is very hot & the engine has warmed up a bit. The car always starts fine & has no other symptoms or noises. I would appreciate any suggestions. I've already spent $300 on the above repairs. Thanks.

Is the cooling system up to par and reading steady on gauges? That could matter,

check the air tube between the airbox and the intake for cracks. fords are common for this. Good Luck.
