I need HLEP with my WINDSTAR Sign In

My 1998 Ford Windstar has just started shaking upon startup and also after idling a while. Is this enough information to give me some idea what the trouble might be?

I also have an old convertible I want to sell...Is there a place I can do that on here?

Does the check engine light come on while the van is running? if it does take it to a major parts house and they will read the codes for free. If the codes are like a P0100 through P0306, a tune up is in order. Look down below this area and there are other forums in there to place your vehicle for sale. If you can't find where, just post the information and either another mod or myself will move it to the place we feel it needs to be.

Thanks for the quick response. A light flicks on briefly at startup but goes off fast. I am not even sure if it is check engine or alternator light it flashed off so fast.

Ok, I will gather the information on the car I have for sale and look for the proper place to post it. Thanks again.
I just found this place tonight and seems like a great place to get info. I don;t know much about cars and need to learn how to take care of my own car better.

Re: I need HLEP with my WINDSTAR Sign In

Well, welcome to our little place. Glad to have you here. We have fun here, but there are some really good automotive minds in here. The site pretty well covers everything from older cars (from some of our youthful days) to the latest technology in the industry. If you read some of the posts from the regulars, you will see what I am talking about. Again, on behalf of the other regulars, welcome to Carjunky. It becomes addictive here. See ya. way2old I am going to be away until late Sunday night. So someone else will jump in and help you if needed.

I submitted my car add in classifieds, but it is not showing, yet.

What should be included in a tune up?

A complete tune up will include spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter, air filter. Possibly a bottle or two of fuel injector cleaner in the fuel tank will help the engine to run smoother. Let us know. You can search the web and find out how to change the items mentioned. These are easily replaced if you have some basic tools.
