I have a 1988 Pontiac Trans Am 5.0 TBI automatic. It has vibration and loss of power. We have adjusted the distributor, replaced the rotor, replaced the distributor cap, pulled the modulator and tested fine, checked the EGR valve it's fine, checked the plugs and wires, made sure they are in the correct firing order. And has the vibration and power loss. Any suggestions? Dustin

I would forget about everything you’ve done and start over, making no assumptions that this or that is ok because we’ve already done/checked it. Begin with engine mechanical, compression tests, timing chain wear, weak or broken valve spring(s), vacuum leaks, and restricted exhaust. Once you’ve proven that the engine can still suck, squeeze and blow; then start looking at why it isn’t going bang. What I mean is if this four-stroke engine isn’t accomplishing all four strokes properly as in; intake, compression, combustion and exhaust (suck, squeeze, bang, blow) then it doesn’t matter what you do externally it’ll still run like crap.
