Thoughts on using green coolant after replacing late model water pump that uses orange coolant? Most of the orange will be gone anyway due to the pump replacement.

Very bad idea.

What's the year, make, model and engine size?

That's not a US sold car so I don't have the specs on it. The original orange/red coolant is a silicate free 5 year coolant. Damage can be done to the cooling system when green coolant is substituted.

It is obviously not a pinto.

Any mechanic who thinks that it’s acceptable to substitute orange coolant with green coolant is disqualified from replacing a water pump. It doesn’t necessarily mean they are unqualified to perform the replacement, just that they would have put in the wrong coolant. And yes, this raises question about the mechanic’s skill or attention to detail.

No. I don’t want to disclose my vehicle info. And, a mechanic wanted to use green coolant on a vehicle that uses orange coolant.

I don’t see any situation where the male model of the vehicle would matter, as it pertains to mixing colors of coolant. It seems like a bad idea 100% of the time.

Running a site without a cert (free with let’s encrypt) isn’t a game, either. Nor is asking about make and model when it comes to mixing different coolants.

This is 100% serious. No games.

Good, you can find another forum to play games with. You won't be using this one again.
