Noise from 2002 Saturn

Ok, I have a 2002 Saturn SC2. When I am accelerating over 25-30mph, and for a short time after, there is a chirp from the engine. I think it could be the belt, but it may be the intake since it sometimes sounds a little sputtery. Any suggestions on how to figure it out, and how to fix it? I recently replaced the air filter, but that couldn't be doing it could it? Thank you

meit; Noises can be a real pain to identify, especially when we can't hear them. A chirping type noise could easily be a belt. On the other hand, if it is a metallic type chirp, could be most anything. Check the belt(s) and tension. The 2002 has misfire detection and should set a check engine or service engine soon light if you are having a misfire. But, the computer won't pick up mechanical type problems. Wish I could be more help. Loren SW Washington

Yeah thanks for the post. The best I can describe the noise is if you were turing a plastic screw, almost a loud squek, but very short.
