Oil leak on Echo 2005

Hi guys,
I have a big oil leak on my Echo 2005. The leak is coming from some kind of connector/sensor plugged in the mid-front part of the engine about 3-4 inches above the oil filter (see pictures below). Oil drips a lot but only when the car is running. I was wondering what to do about it; Is it easily fixable or should I send it to a garage.

Can't see your pics for some reason, but does it look like this?
If so, that is your oil pressure switch that is leaking.
Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

It's an oil pressure sender........ cheap fix but very important to do right away.

It has to be replaced. It's leaking right through the sender itself.

You'd better buy the special socket to replace it also. The parts store will have that too.

Ok I'll look for that, but is the oil pressure sender and oil pressure switch the same thing?

Ok I found the right switch at NAPA and I am about to install it, I was just wondering if I need to add some kind of adhesive like teflon ?

That would be fine. I usually just put a little silicone sealer on the threads but it's pipe thread so it will tighten anyway.

Got it and no leaks ! I had trouble finding the right socket size. Original part is Japanese (24mm) and generic part is American (7/8 inch). There is like 2 mm difference between the two...

It's pretty rare that a regular socket will work. Most take a special "rounded edge" socket.
