Oil pressure light/ oil light

I have a 1998 Dodge caravan with 213,000 miles. The other week I drove to fort Worth from Arlington roughly 30 miles and when I came to the stop light after exiting the highway my oil light came on and did not go off so I ran the red light and parked as fast as I could seeing how that light is to be taken seriously. So I checked the oil level and it was spot on let the car sit for about 45 min started up and drove back home 30 miles no problem.. I've been driving for the past few weeks with no problems untill tonight driving home from fort Worth I exited the highway and made a right turn and the light comes on for 3 seconds and goes off. I still pulled into a gas station wanting to check everything out and while pulling in it came back on and this time stayed on. After looking over the oil level and the sensor it's self I got in my car started up and drove the last 5 miles to my house .... Any advise would be really cool or maybe someone has had a similar situation...... Hopefully with some help this problem can be diagnosed...

It has to be verified with a separate oil pressure gauge attached to engine just a hunch it's telling you of a real low oil pressure situation NOT just oil level or time to change oil features. Why because it's when you slowed down or turned RPMs are down and with turn oil sloshes can't pick up enough. The reasons are many from sludge, oil too thin or diluted with fuel maybe or pick up can't pick up oil properly. Has to be checked or it's the risk you think, game over for that engine, T

Or maybe 213,000 miles is the life expectancy of that motor. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Ayup - HT. I just found ALL of these ran very hot air all around under the short hood just didn't help anything. TX use suggested by OP? Synthetic oil use changed early might make it OK otherwise have to agree that's enough for this, T
