Overheating Nissan Turbo

I have a 2002 Nissan Frontier Turbo Intercooler 3.2 Liter V8 with around 250,000km. The original engine (2.7L) was recently burnt out and had to be replaced with the above engine which is likely from Japan and should have less than 50,000 km on it (they tend to have a high turnover due to costly assessment fees). Anyway, here's the problem. The new engine, being larger than the old one, started to overheat going up a heavy incline. The radiator cap was found to be faulty and was replaced. It started to overheat again on same incline, so the radiator was changed to an aluminum radiator. The engine was able to make the incline without overheating and had no problems again until yesterday. Between the radiator change (about 4 weeks ago) and now, I also had the thermostat changed because I knew it was older. Driving up a heavy incline yesterday, the engine started to overheat. I slowed down from 4th to 3rd gear and the temp started to go down. It continued to do this throughout the journey through the hills. It appears that the coolant system is able to bring down the temp of the truck so long as it isn't going uphill. There are no leaks and the coolant level stays steady in the reservoir, is full in the radiator when cool enough to check. Also, the water pump is not leaking and all mechanics assure me that it is working. A few questions: 1) When shutting off the engine after it's up to normal heat levels, there is a lot of pressure in the coolant hoses, is this normal? 2) Could the radiator cap be providing too much pressure, ie: not allowing for pressure release even though it's practically new? 3) I've noticed the overheating will start in all gears, but mainly starts in 4th and 5th gears easiest even when not lugging the engine. Could this be due to the turbo or excess fuel injection? 4) Ultimately, what do you think could be the main culprit?

first thought - check fan, operation and shroud. A used engine would have me checking for head gasket issue... Second where are you? I show a 2.4L I4 or a 3.3 V6... something is not showing up in my quick search.
