I have a 2000 Nissan Altima and had two serpentine belts replaced 4 days ago. They squeeked the minute I turned the car on to leave the garage so took it back the next day and my mechanic tightened them or one of them, so no more squeeks. Today I noticed (really smelled it first) antifreeze coming out of the top of the radiator ( inches away from the cap) and the whole radiator assembly seemed loose to me. The car was not overheating. Can tightening the serpentine belt too much cause a problem with the radiator?? The timing of these two incidents just seems too strange to be coincidental. I know antifreeze is lethal to pets so I have papers underneath to saturate any leak that may come down. Thanks Wooks

No, the belt didn't cause the leak but the leak could have ruined your first belt. It sounds like you need a radiator.
