I have a 2003 Jeep liberty sport 4wd 3.7L, 86,000 miles.... with the same EXACT problem. It smells just like candle wax periodically, and also after I run the heater for about 5 minutes. I live in Pennsylvania, and right now it's about 15 degrees outside, so I'm running my heat a lot. I just had to have my overflow tank replaced for the radiator because it was leaking out of the bottom causing a lot of smoke, and the smoke from it smelled the same. But the smell has been there from the heat since I bought it 2 years ago. Just had it inspected last month and it passed everything fine. Same as you, I have no leaks, strange noises, nothing. And I have never smelled anything like this in a car before until this one. I'm clueless! I have no advice for you, just hoping to get some with you, lol. Same car, same problem!!!!
