I am the owner of a dodge stratus SE 2000 model and I am having rough idling issues several mechanic have checked, they have had me bought idle control motor, map sensor trottle control position sensor and nothing works, engine 2.4 I am getting fedup the problem here is we have no good mechanics here on this Island. I am beginning to think none of them knows anything but just guessing. any suggestion would greatly appreciated. Linuxxpwin

I am not condoneing the mechanics . but , sometimes this is not an exact science . Some problems have very similar symtoms but very different causes .some other posssible causes are the coils and related components . The EGR valve. Faulty injector(s) ,improper fuel pressure. Troubleshooting this type of problem requires fair amount of time to verify problems. You may get a bill for hours of diagnostic time to change a $75 part right in front of you. Find a mechanic that will take the time to wade thru the numbers.
