Serpentine belt burning.

1994 Ford Ranger 4 cyl ~130k miles This Ranger sits more than it drives. I went to start the truck and the Crank pulley rotates normal as expected. The belt just smokes because none of the other (power steering, engine fan, alternator) pulleys don't move. The belt just smokes. I tried to remove belt and the belt tensioner doesn't release. How can I tell which pulley is defective. I tried moving with socket and breaker bar. All will rotate. Any advice? Secondly, the truck is leaking antifreeze between the engine and the transmission now. Is this a hard fix? Thanks again.

Sounds like one of your accessories has locked up... With the tensioner, make sure you are going in the right direction, also make sure you are using a long enough bar. Some of those have pretty good spring tension and if you are using too short of bar it will feel like the tensioner doesn't move. Once you get the belt off, just spin all the pulleys by hand and see which one is locked up. Leaking between the engine & trans isn't a good sign. It could be a freeze plug on the back end of the block which would require the trans to be removed BUT you want to be double sure it's come from there and not a hose near the back or by the intake that just happens to be running down the backside. Go over the top back side of the engine, heater hoses & intake manifold to be sure it isn't coming from some other area (actually you gonna be hoping it is on this one.....)
