I have a 2001 Ford Escape. 2.0L DOHC. Manual trans. My problem is starting the car when it has been running for a while. In the morning it starts and runs fine. Once I turn it off and try to restart, it will not start. I can wait 15 to 20 minutes and it will start back and run fine. The check engine light is not on. This problem does not happen all the time but is starting to occur more frequently. I have not tried anything yet because I don't know which direction to take.

Even though the SES hasn't come on you may want to pull the codes on it anyway just to be sure nothing is stored. The next step would be finding out what is missing when it isn't starting, spark of fuel? Know this would narrow the field down on where to look...........
