Turbo boosts too high Sign In

Hello!

I recently bought a 1991 Mercury Capri XR2 Turbo.

It seems to run great, but the turbo is driving me crazy. The boost redlines at 10psi and the engine cuts out if it goes much above that. The problem is that it will easily boost too high, and I really have to be careful and watch the boost gauge to make sure I play the gas right so it does not go too high.

Is there some way to adjust the boost so that it boosts to 10psi then stops so I don't have to be so careful? Maybe some sort of pressure valve I can adjust? Or is this just the way turbos are?

Thanks in advance for all the help,

Be
