2000 Pontiac Montana 140,000 I went out to start my van and it wouldn't start. When I tried to hook up jumper cables it started trying to turn over. There was no key in ignition. Please help.

Seems you found it stone dead and the thing probably unseen just cranked away on it's own and killed the battery and melted up the starter's solenoid to the "crank" position on it's own. Why? A failed remote starter after market especially if equipped could have failed like most do. First step I would do is disconnect the trigger wire to the starter's solenoid and see if it's powered with a jump again OR it might just crank away stuck in that mode. Need to know that then trace down why the wire is enabled if so first. Then you probably face a ruined starter and battery both but AFTER you can trace down the source reason and fix that, T
