1998 Isuzu Rodeo, 3.2L V-6,5-spd,4wd. I changed the timing belt, cleaned throttle plate and now the vehicle will idle but has no power under acceleration and backfires/pops through intake duct work only. I have rechecked/redone the timing process at least 10-15 times and I had it wrong once but since had everything in order but still having backfires, MIL light blinks while running and cannot get a code with the machine. Please help an aggravated home mechanic.

Why did you change the timing belt? What happened to the original one? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
