1994 toyota camry 2.2 wont start replaced distributor complete with coil replaced ignitor car will not start has good fire timing belt is in time if you block fuel line to injectors car will start and naturally dies due to lack of fuel pulled the plugs all 4 saturated with gas checked compression over 130 on all cylinders thinking ecm but that is a very expensive guess especially since no trouble communicating and no codes

All "crank, no start" conditions are approached in the same way. Every engine requires certain functions to be able to run. Some of these functions rely on specific components to work and some components are part of more than one function so it is important to see the whole picture to be able to conclude anything about what may have failed. Also, these functions can ONLY be test during the failure. Any other time and they will simply test good because the problem isn't present at the moment. If you approach this in any other way, you are merely guessing and that only serves to replace unnecessary parts and wastes money. Every engine requires spark, fuel and compression to run. That's what we have to look for. These are the basics that need to be tested and will give us the info required to isolate a cause. 1) Test for spark at the plug end of the wire using a spark tester. If none found, check for power supply on the + terminal of the coil with the key on. 2) Test for injector pulse using a small bulb called a noid light. If none found, check for power supply at one side of the injector with the key on. 3) Use a fuel pressure gauge to test for correct fuel pressure, also noticing if the pressure holds when key is shut off. 4) If all other tests are passed. then perform a complete compression test and record the results. All cylinders should be over 120lbs in most cases and all be within 10% of each other. Once you have determined which of these functions has dropped out, you will know which system is having the problem. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

A quick check you can try is disconnect the injectors one at a time to see if that makes any difference, then take an ohm reading of all the injectors they should all be within an 1 ohm of each other.

Well you might want to check the coolant temp sensor if the resistance is too high the comp will think it's -40 & be dumping gas. At around 60 º it should be in the 2 to 3 ohm range anything over 4 will be a problem unless it's zero degrees out. 10 ohms and this is your problem. The sensor is on the frt of the motor by the rad cap area.

alldata says Using an ohmmeter, measure across the terminals. Temperature ......... Resistance: @ -20°C (-4°F) .... 10 - 20 k Ohms @ 0°C (32°F) ... 4.0 - 7.0 k 0hms @ 20°C (68°F) ... 2.0 - 3.0 k Ohms @ 40°C (104°F) .. 0.9 - 1.3 k Ohms @ 60°C (140°F) .. 0.4 - 0.7 k Ohms @ 80°C (176°F) .. 0.2 - 0.4 k Ohms If the resistance is not as specified replace the sensor it is about 85 degrees and it measures 2.6 k ohms maybe a little off but should run, right?

That should be good at this point if you have access to a scanner, a look at the data stream would be helpful. To be able to see what the comp is seeing. From your original post it really sounds like it's overfueling, might be a good idea to confirm that. Disconnect the fuel pump and see if you can get it to run on carb clean for more than a few seconds. just feather the sprays accordingly. Don't deadhead the pump (pinch off the line) That test is very hard on the pump & should only be done for a few seconds if needed.

pulled fuel pump relay and it started with carb cleaner but recheck of codes shows code 13 scanner also shows very erratic rpm readings tested wiring to the ecm all ohm out ok and none ohm to hot or ground reinstalled old distributor no change in rpm on scanner(shows 1500 when first start cranking and the longer you crank the higher it goes up to 7200 atleast but it shows same way on the tach in the car) is the ecm known to be a problem on this car or am I missing something?
