I have a 1997 chevy cavalier and had to replace the motor. The junkyard gave me a 1996 motor and everything matches up except the water pump is a little different and the crankshaft position sensor. The crankshaft position sensor on the 1997 is a two prong plug and the new motor has a three prong. Does any one know what I can do to make this engine run. Is there any way to convert one part of the sensor?

Will the old one fit in the new engine? If not that is a headache and the engine swap should have been with one that is an exact fit. You can't just fudge all kinds of things very easily, T
