engine cuts off under 1000 rpm Sign In

I think something may be teriblely wrong hope not. I have a skoda fabia 1.4 16V, i had the exaust changed out to 2" pipes. Everything else is standard. Friday the car broke down when i stoped at a traffic light. When i finerly got it started it will just shut off at anything less than 1000 rpm. so i managed to get home. The dealership don't open on weekends so i took it to my cousins shop. He said that it was probably the gas and drained it all out changed the filter and serviced the injectors only to get the same problem. My cousin phoned a guy from the local VW dealer yesterday who told him it could be the map sensor, but check all the ground wires first, because EPC was showing up in the display a few times we got it started. He was saying that i just might be a power problem because once started and the rpm don't go under 1000 the car was working fine except for abit of slow trottle response. He also said that a trottle learn may have to be done never heard of it but he said he will have to check on the procedure to get it done.

Any help guys the dealer is a bit far from where i live and not to mention very expensive if i have to go that way i will but i'm open to all options right now. There is a shop nearby that i phoned this morning who can do the diagnosyics, they close at 11pm which is good for me as i only get of work at around 6.30 when everywhere is closed, so i should have the fault codes by tomorrow.

They have made quite a come back since VW bought them over. The fabia is identical to an Audi A3 and the VW Polo, all the parts are the same.

The last time I saw a Skoda it looked a lot like this one.
Well it was at least sitting still like the one in the picture, it broke down more then it ran. But when it was running you had no problem wondering if it was with the clouds of smoke coming out the tail pipe. LOL
