engine difficult to crank or dying while driving

have a 1995 ford f150 with 5.0l engine with roughly 52000 miles. If it cranks when I leave to run errand it may not crank after I reach destination or it may die completely while driving. I find letting it sit for approx. 30 + minutes it will crank up. had in shop once but they could not duplicate problem. any ideas ????

When you state crank, do you mean the starter doesn't operate?
