It would probably be a good idea to post what codes you have/had, what tests you've run with the results, what parts you've replaced and if possible a little more detail about the problem and if cold/hot makes a difference..........

- 2000
- chevy
- astro
- 4/3 liter vortec v6
the van will start and idle fine, but when i try to accelerate the engine just baugs and would smell like its running rich but no black smoke out the tail pipe. the first code was a p0101, p0102, p0122,and i dont remeber the last one. ok so the first two codes had something to do with the mass. sensor so i changed it at the same time i had changed the plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor. Then cleared the code started it back up and it would idle just fine till i press the gas pedal moments later p0101-p0102. i also did a compression test, along with a fuel pressusre test. now i belive thats everthing. oh yah i replace the upper intake gaskets.

Your assuming that since you have a MAF code that simply changing the MAF is what it needs. This is not that simple. The code isn't telling you the sensor is bad. It's telling you there is a problem in the circuit that could be the wiring, the computer itself or something else all together. Even a plugged converter could give you that code. The circuit needs to be diagnosed properly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

HT is correct. You may also want to take a vacuum reading, at idle & 2500 rpm and compare the readings.. Unplug the MAF and see if that makes any difference on the way it runs.......
