1994 ford f 150 4/4 5.0 l just bought the truck so i don't have a lot of history having a problem with the truck stalling out after after start up. starts fine then stalls when the accelerator is pushed and let off engine sounds like it has a lack of power during acceleration also any suggestions on were to start would be wecome

Check for vacuum leaks everywhere. You can get codes off this but take those with a grain of salt. It normally should be a high idle when started cold and if it isn't doing that, that's a clue. Does it? T

You may have a bad IAC ( idle air control) but try eliminating any vacuum leaks and cleaning the throttle body first. Remove the intake snorkel, have someone hold the throttle wide open for you and scrub the back side of the throttle plate and surrounding bore with an old tooth brush and some carb cleaner. Be sure to spray some into the small holes next to the throttle plate. That should help stabilize the idle. If it still has a problem, replace the IAC. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

So rare I don't know the PSI yet for this but might be low fuel pressure. Worth checking till this is figured out. It does the high idle cold so IAC is probably OK. IMO - no harm in cleaning. Not to me yet but have heard of problems with that upper intake manifold if truck was neglected. How many miles on this thing? T

Also check the TPS voltage. Do a voltage sweep test. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

I've seen those break/rust, make noise but no loss of power. There's a kit that may fix those things. I think you are talking about the tube that injects air into exhaust? T
