just replaced the timing belt on the car and it wont start will run with starting fluid but thats it, popped the fuel rail off to see if fuel was comming out of the injectors but none came out. took the fuel line off of the fuel rail got fuel comming out but doesnt look like much pressure behind it. dont know how much pressure this car is suppose to have and no way to check it. replaced the fuel filter about a month ago, power to the injectors is good. would there be any thing keeping the injectors from opening or not enough fuel pressure? need help thanks

Initial response for me would be to check the fuel pump, possibly replace it, but that is just my thoughts. I'm sure if you check a Chilton manual for the car you could find out some more about the fuel system especially the pressure amount generated.

well just checked the pressure i got fuel pressure and i got power and fuel to the injectors. is there anyway i could check the injectors to see if they are bad before i go and replace them? now the guy that was working on it before me was a dum*** and changed the ecm thinking that was the problem could that have shorted out the injectors in anyway?

what is the fuel pressure?You should have between 53-59 psi key on engine off.Go to advance or autozone and get a injector noid light,disconnect injector electrical connector and hook noid light up and crank engine....noid light should flash on and off.If on steady than ecm is not grounding injector.If no light at all than feed wire or voltage problem.Is this the 2.2 or 2.4? I just read you have power to injectors....if you got battery voltage to injector would have to use a noid light to see if ecm is grounding injector.With fuel injection you need exact fuel pressure.

could be engine timing is misadjusted ck the timing especially if you ust replaced the timing belt could be a safety feature set in ecm that if crank and cam sensors not matched car will not start

the noid light does not flash when cranking it stays solid light, i have no clue about ecms so how could i check or fix the ecm ground? it is the 2.2 and im not positive on the fuel pressure i didnt have the adapter to fit in the fuel line where the filter goes. i can not find a shrader valve on the fuel anywhere so i unhooked it at the regulater and the fuel was spraying out with pressure so i figured it was good. thanks post back please

if timing was off vehicle may not start but injectors will still be pulsed.You need special adapter between fuel feed line and fuel rail to hook fuel pressure gauge up.When you turn key to on position do you hear fuel pump run for 2 seconds and stop?If noid light is not flashing during cranking the computer is not grounding injectors.Usually computer will not ground injectors if a crank signal from crank sensor is not seen but you will not have spark either.Lack of spark and injector pulses would mean a primary ignition problem.let me look at some things here and will get back to you later.

Does fuel pump run for a few seconds when key is turned to on position and do you have voltage to pump during cranking?You have spark because when you prime with starting spray it starts runs for a few seconds and dies.Is this correct?Use carb spray instead of starting fluid it is more safer and does the same.I use propane.I am wondering if fuel pump is operable and the computer is commanding fuel pump to run during crank condition and also if you hear pump run when key is turned to on position when ignition feed energizes pump to pressurize the fuel rail for 2 seconds.If injectors are not being pulsed you should still have pump run to create fuel pressure in fuel rail and line so when injectors are pulsed the proper amount of fuel is injected into each cylinder.Let me know answers to above questions.I once worked on a car that the tps was damaged during engine work and signal voltage was stuck high so computer would not pulse injectors.Replaced tps and all was well.The voltage on tps signal wire would have to be high above 4 volts.Maybe bad computer or possibly a computer ground issue.Not quite sure.

Have you checked ALL the fuses with a test light? ECM A(1) and ECM B(2) control the pulsing of the injectors. Fuse blown, injectors stay shut. No fuel. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds
