general question regarding "routine maintainence" Sign In

I have a 2003 Honda Accord V6 and is coming up on 90,000 miles. Though I know it's not time to change out the timing belt I am preparing to do that. A local mechanic said that I should also change out the water pump since he'll be in there and the pump runs off the timing belt. Not being a mechanic it sounds reasonable but is it?

Yes, that is the normal thing to do.

Just to add, when you do the belt and pump get an OEM pump from the dealer. You may pay a little more, but the quality is a whole lot better.
