honda motor shakes badly

motor shook badly and acted as if it would die - for a few blocks. then ok. code I found was 301 - however now it appears to be fine. honda, civic, 2005, 118k miles.

You had a misfire on cylinder one. Check the plugs, wires and coils. They are the most common causes.
