intermitent shut off then will restart

I have a 04 pt cruiser with a turbo. I can drive it for 2 or 3 trips with no issues, then it will start to lose power sputer a little then shut off. The engine light comes on. trying to restart it it grinds but will not start. I have changed the cam sensor and the IAC. any help ou there

"Grinds?" Do you mean other than a normal cranking sound?
Pull the codes as for near sure there's info in there to point to the issue,
