mercury sable misfire Sign In
2000 mercury sable dohc 3.0. car had a failed fuel pump. replaced & car ran fine of a week. now all of a sudden misfires on 5 & 6. switched #4 coil with #6 no change. plugs look good. only 80k on car. what should I check next?

Is it a constant misfire? Does it misfire only under load or at idle? Was there any other repair work done prior to your problems? Are there any trouble codes being stored in the PCM other than the misfire codes?

constant misfire- new fuel pump installed about a week ago- car ran fine afterwards. yes there are codes stored for misfire on cyclinder e & f

TRhat sounds like coil circuit codes. What are the exact code numbers?
