Getting all the air out can be a headache. If heater is working it's usually close enough to finish self purging. Some cars have a plug up high - perhaps near thermostat to bleed out air when filling, or some others you actually need to remove a hose up high and prefill from there. If the work is just recent this could be it. Don't let it overheat of course but most without jumping thru hoops with finish the last air pockets with few cycles of warm ups and cool downs which happens while driving as t stat opens and closes. When all is well temp gauge should stay steady all the time once warmed up, T
