92 chevy S-10 4.3 auto trans. just bought it. 130,000 mi. not showing a trouble code. has tbi injection. Starts and runs good when warm, but no start when cold. fires quickly when primed with a small amount of gas into intake. Suggestions?

I might add, the wires under the dash are a mess. Not sure the plug in for the code reader even works. weezer.

maybe I need to rephrase a sentence in the original post. It doesn't catch on fire. It STARTS immediately when primed. I am showing my age here. In the old days we used to say, "fire it up", meaning start the engine. Also, I tried it, and the code reader does'nt even work. I took the owners word for it. I guess he meant it literally did not show a code. It couldn't. Guess I will need to get a wiring diagram and see if I can get it wired up. Would the code reader wiring not being hooked up cause no start when cold??

No, you're phasing it right. I'm just drawing a blank at the moment. I believe this is TBI (can't see the thread right now). I would check the injector while cranking to see if you are getting gas. No gas & I would check pulse to the injector. No pulse and that is road you need to go down to find your problem.... There were a few common problems with those if I remember right, one was a ign module problem and I think there were some ground issues in the dist as well....
