I first tested gage by shooting 90psi from compressor into gage. It appeared to work correctly. So I pulled #1,2,3 plugs seperatley, and tried to test compression. Zero, zilch, nothing on any cylinder. My next thing was to pull timing chain cover to check timing belt. I could not remove crank hub/ pulley mount, s I cracked the cover a little to see the timing belt, and it appeared to be intact. I was told when I bought it that oil was in radiator, (which is true, a yellow looking sludge). I checked for water in oil, by draining the oil, and found very little water in the oil. Which I know could be head gasket, cracked cylinder wall, intake gasket. As i first got the truck. I checked the water level and had to add, what semed to be alot. I thought it was going into the crankcase (ouil pan) but not. I really want to know if perhaps I have a blown engine, and what my next step should be. Local repair shop wants $1,200. to do head gasket...A little to much to have it torn down and be told engine is blown. Please help. Try to set #1 cyl at TDC and put pressure into the spark plug hole and see what happens. There should be some pressure held if only for a short time. The oil in the cooling system will ruin your hoses and perhaps the water pump.
