Hey, ive been restoring a 69 chevelle SS for about 1.5 years now, and i have completed a total frame off restore and am just waiting on body work, however i fully machined my enegine some time ago. I think a year ago this month. I turn over the engine manually occasionaly, however have never flashed it up.. Im wondering what type of possible enegine damage could have been done by letting it sit so long, and how to prevent / fix the damage that could have been done.

Main thing that will happen is rings may seize to the cylinder walls and gall walls or rings and allow blow-by. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

If and only if there's damage it is done. Did this sit outdoors or something? You turned it now and then and that's good. A tad of oil in spark plug holes would preserve things when spun thru and last indefinately if stored properly. Maybe I'm missing something here. Is this engine just on a stand or crate right now and where? T

Tom is correct. If engine has been inside and dry, a little mist of oil in each cylinder and turning it by hand will help immensely. If you have rotated the engine occasionally, you should be OK. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds
