running hot and cold Sign In

My car is a 2002 Nissan Sentra not sure about engine size I think 1.6 .over 100,000 mileage .Here's my problem the gauge in on the dashboard show car starting to get hot and goes up almost to the H then it will drop back down to middle way were it always stayed before this started to happen .The heater only works some times. I replaced the radinater last year and I've had the water pump replaced a couple of months ago and two week ago I had a new themostat put in and the guy replaced the valve cover gasket or it might have been the head gasket sorry I'm not sure which one ..When I open the hood no smoke or steam is present.but if I take the cap off after releasing the steam on the cap cover vent the coolant some times shoots up in the air I alway leave the car running if I have to add coolant but sometimes and only some times it shoot out faster then I can add it .There will be days where nothing happens then it starts again ,

It overheats, heater quits working and all those parts replaced and you are still having to add coolant so it's blowing it out from overheating, leaking, or consuming it thru head gasket most likely. Filling while hot and it shooting out is trauma to the system all by itself not good.

It may never have been properly purged of air but now with ongoing overheating the head gasket is in question even if already done once. Testing for leaks is in order. If burning it up you would normally see that as white smoke out exhaust,
