i have a 1997 buick lesabre 3.8 v6 trying to replace the serpentine belt on it. it has the side mount to the engine. i was woundering do you have to remove the complete mount to change it or i was told to take front tire off and dust shield. they said you should be able to get to the lower mount bolt. they then said to remove the bolt and the spacer and you can install the belt this way with out removing the mount is this true or what would be the best way to do it. thanks

Yes, there is a removable spacer on the lower right bolt. Remove the bolt and the spacer will slide up. It's a tight fit so you may have to manipulate it a little to get it in and out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
