stalled driving down road Sign In

i have an 88 nissan pathfinder 3.0 engine 4x4. i had to pull my pick up home and made it home fine. i got 3 blocks down the road and the pathfinder just shut down with no noises or anything. after cranking it for a while it started but weekly and i smelled a sulfur smell. after i had a neibor pull this car home a few hour later it started up and sounded fine so i shut it down for the night. the next day started it again and it started but when i applied the gas it stagered and died and has not started since. it did something like this last year i thought it was water in the gas and added some heet and 3 days later it started and have not had a problem since. ex cept we had to replace some gas lines after they developed a leek. my dash lights work you can hear the buzz of the fuel pump and you can smell the gas in the engine and it even act like it wants to start but won't.

project; Doesn't sound as if you are having a good week. Nissans' are notorious for poor connections at the sensors. I'd check the coolant temp sensor and the connector. If you have an ohmmeter, we can give you a chart to test the sensor.
