valve ticking due to low oil pressure?

My 91 jeep yj four cylinder has valve ticking probably due to low oil pressure. It is fine at idle when the motor is cold (oil pressure gauge sits around 3 which is where the valves stop ticking) but after the motor warms up from driving the pressure drops and at idle the gauge sits just above 0  . My first though was that I was low on oil so I checked the dip stick and the oil was half way between full and add ( I checked it when the motor was cold).

Oil is thinner when warm and may leak down faster at bearings and isn't making it to the lifters. DON'T wait a minute to get this fixed!!!!! It's your whole engine at stake! It might just be an oil pump problem. By your description it sounds like your gauge is telling you the truth, T

So what would you recommend trying first, a thicker oil (I have Quaker State high milage 5w-30 in there now), or taking apart the oil pump, another thing that im not sure if it would do this but when I took the valve cover off a few months ago I noticed that the PVC vents were clogged with sludge though I cleared it out my ges is there’s more deeper in the motor. (My service manual says for low oil pressure it could be 1. Improper grade of oil 2. Oil pump worn or damaged 3. Engine overheating 4. Clogged oil filter 5. Clogged oil strainer 6. Oil pressure gauge not working properly.)

Sludge is a killer. It usually is from heat and not changing oil enough. Most of the sludge will be at the top of an engine under valve cover(s) and some won't allow gravity drains to return oil to the oil pan and it can starve the oil pump like being out of oil. The fact that it seems to behave better when cold leads me to think you now have a worn engine and the oil available under pressure leaks out of the crankshaft bearings so fast that it can't make it to the crankshaft and lifters.
On you list all are correct except I don't buy the one on a clogged oil filter as they routinely bypass the oil filter completely if demand is high. I've owned a couple sludged engines and cleaned them up slowly with wicked changing of oil which is a solvent an they cleaned up and worked fine for years. They make flushes but I don't suggest that as it might be too fast and throw chunks and that would be "Game Over." Heavier weight oil may help but may be getting late for the fix,  T

Ya this motor has 193,000 kilometres on it which I think they have a tendency to over heat the oil because on both mine and my budys jeep (over 200,000 kilometres with no strange motor noises) smoke comes out of the filler opening on the valve cover. Another thing that I noticed is even though I know that I shouldn’t drive it much I’ve noticed that its bean getting better because after we fired it up from sitting in the driveway for a year the valve ticking started immediately at low rpm but if u gave it a little rev and the pressure would jump up and stop the ticking.
another thing that i might add is that its just one of the valves and not all of them that is ticking and the slightest bit above idle when hot and the gauge will move up to 1.5.
