what am i looking at on engine head?

what am i looking at on engine head? Sign In

2016 Honda Odyssey v6 engine

when i look into the oil fill hole, there are these tan patches on the engine head. I can't tell if it is residue from something spilled on there, or if it is something chipped away. you guys know?

It just looks like chipped paint from sticking funnels in there.

You're looking for problems where there isn't any.

i had no idea that they painted the oiled areas of engine heads. that seems odd to me since the oil should give that surface all the corrosion resistance they need.
