So here is what is going on, I just bought a 2004 Dodge Stratus 2.9 with 118k miles, car looks great, had a bunch of work to suspension, tie rods, bearings, hubs you name it. So I by the car, no problems, idles low, like 500rpm low, which makes me happy. A few hours later, after going to a scrap yard to find some r/t model faux carbon fiber, found a brand new air filter. Went home and took the intake off with all the hoses (which didn't have clamps, thought that was weird) and put it in. Me, being the forgetful one like always FORGOT TO CLAMP THE INTAKE BACK DOWN AND PUT THE MAF BACK ON AND HOSES. Needless to say car idles at 1500rpm then struggled to breathe, then cut out completely. Opened her up, fixed everything (after driving to 7-11 and grocery store) even cleaned the maf and now... nothing. Turn key and it doesn't even try to kick over. I'm at a loss, any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated. I hope the computer just messed up or something, I honestly don't know what it could be, please, any help would be awesome. It's either fix it today myself or tow it somewhere... all this for frigging up an air filter change.

I'm wondering if this is fuel related, like the injector or pump, but it would still turn over, right?

If it's not cranking look over all the wiring and plugs near the battery in case you knocked something loose. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
