OK, i have an 03 GMC Envoy. when you turn the vehicle off you should have power to windows and radio untill you open a door. this feature works with all doors exept the drivers door. Has anybody seen this before? Basically you have control of windows after exiting the vehicle untill you open one of the other doors. All other doors disable the delay feture exect the drivers door, and i have no 'door ajar' for any of the doors. Thanks, I'll be scratching my head till somebody offers a piece of advice.

It’s likely the driver’s side door jam switch that is not closing when the driver’s door is opened. I’m pretty sure this switch is on the door latch assembly. It is a two wire switch with the colour gray/black and a brown wires. Not sure if the switch is sold separate from the latch? It may only be stuck that a bit of cleaning and some lube will get it working again? This switch is a mechanical switch that closes (connects) the gray/black wire to the brown wire, when the door is opened. With the switch closed the driver’s side door module sends a class 2 serial data signal (computer language) to the body control module; which in-turn the body control module turns off the retained power relay and shuts down the accessories. Why so complicated I don’t know; I think it’s because they can, not that they have too? Dan. Canadian "EH"
