My daughters car. Runs great no other current issues. She wants to keep this vehicle. Heater core began to leak outside from the bottom. I fixed up a bypass hose fixture. Now the issue of the remove & replace the core. I see a lot on WEB about this job but nothing specific to this year and model. Anyone got any relevant experience, other than getting rid of the car?

They didn't publish and good info on this job at all. The labor time is 8 hours so I assume the dash has to come completely out.

I'd tell her to go without heat. the car isn't worth that much.

The dash has to come out on this one.

Chryslers aren't too bad as far as dash removal goes but like any dash work, it is labor intensive.

On this one, if you've never done dash work before, plan on about 2 days work, minimum to do this job.
If you do dash work but haven't done this model, you could do it in about 6 or 7 hours.

Doing dash work and after doing one of these a few times, you would be able to knock one out in 4 or 5 hours.

Thanks Sidom & Hammer....This Dodge will make a great ride for a teenager at a local VOC school. This is a project that I loved to do when I was a kid. It makes for an experienced and confident person. I will donate later. It is summer now, so my daughter can use it until we can replace it. Thanks Car Junky...as usual.
