06 Chevy Malibu Maxx engine disabled

I have an 06 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx 3.5L V6 engine with 53,00 miles. I am driving along or stopped at a stop light or stop sign when all of a sudden the check engine light and the no traction control lights will come on on the dashboard and on the radio display it says "reduce engine power". Seconds later the display will say "engine disabled" and the engine will shut down. If I can I'll pull off to the side of the road and shut off the engine. ill let the engine sit for 30 secs. to 1 min. when I turn the car on again it reads "power steering" on the radio display and the engine wont even crank when I try to start it. Ill shut the car off again and then Ill turn it on again and it will start right up and everything will be cleared, no check engine light or no traction control light and no messages on the radio display. Something else that I have noticed too is that it only happens when it is warm. I haven't tried anything yet as I don't know where to start.

You probably want to start with having the codes read that were stored when the check engine light came on.
