I have a 1988 dodge dakota V6 2 wheel drive pickup truck. It is leajing water from just above the starter. (quit a bit I may add) is this caused by a blown head gasket or this the location of the freeze plug? if so could this leak be caused by a worn freeze plug? or is it a blown head gasket? I checked my oil after wiping the stick off and the oil appears to be fine.

You have duplicated your question. Here is what I posted on the other question A head gasket is quite unlikely. There are freeze plugs behind the starter and also on the back of the head which can be leaking. It can also be a leaking intake manifold gasket or a heater hose leaking on top of the manifold. The best bet is to pressure test the cooling system so you can follow the leak to it's source. Use a small mirror if necessary. Here's what the pressure tester looks like. Many of the discount parts stores will loan or rent one to you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
